Art Blanc — Showcasing unique event venues

Art Blanc is a group specialising in the rental of reception, catering, and event spaces — "unique places for unique events." The site presents each venue in detail, with 2D and 3D plans, and tells the group's story through an animated timeline that brings its emblem, the olive tree, to life — growing on screen as you scroll.

The challenge

Choosing an event venue is a spatial decision: photos aren't enough. The site had to let visitors genuinely understand each space — its layout and scale — while carrying the brand's heritage and sense of occasion through motion that felt crafted, not gimmicky.

What we built

Delivered at Cherry Pulp on a custom WordPress foundation:

  • Detailed presentations of each reception venue, with 2D and 3D floor plans
  • An animated history timeline — the olive-tree emblem growing branch by branch as the visitor moves through the company's story
  • A bespoke theme matching the brand's premium, event-focused positioning

My role

I handled the WordPress build end to end — backend and frontend — from the custom theme and venue structures to the timeline itself.

The interesting part

The growing-tree animation was the technically demanding piece. Syncing a branching, organic sequence to scroll position — rather than a fixed timer — meant keeping animation state consistent as visitors moved through the timeline at any speed, forwards or backwards. It had to read as crafted and deliberate, not decorative, while staying smooth on the full range of devices visiting an event-venue site.

Outcome

Art Blanc got a site where prospective clients can read each venue in 2D and 3D before they ever visit, wrapped in the brand's own story — told by a tree that grows as you go.
