AMA La Girafe — A digital classroom-correspondence platform

AMA La Girafe is a modern take on school correspondence: a pedagogical platform that links classrooms of 3–11 year-olds across the French-speaking world to build global awareness and social-emotional skills. It now connects 12,000+ students across 570+ schools and 595 classes.

AMA La Girafe's illustrated world

The challenge

More than a website — a product. AMA pairs a physical "Set AMA" (comic book, plush mascot, adventure bag) with an online platform where classrooms exchange adventures, all wrapped in a curriculum and a solidarity model that donates sets to child-focused associations.

What we built

Delivered at Cherry Pulp:

  • A public WordPress site presenting the programme and selling the set
  • The connected classroom application at app.amagirafe.org driving the exchanges
  • A design and component system aimed at teachers and children, not developers

My role

Frontend architecture and the technical foundations bridging the marketing site and the classroom app.

The interesting part

Bridging two very different surfaces — a public WordPress marketing site and a dedicated classroom application at a separate subdomain — meant designing a frontend architecture that held them together without coupling them. The deeper challenge was building for two audiences — teachers and 3–11 year-olds — sharing the same system.

Outcome

What started as a website became a product: a connected-classroom platform now linking 12,000+ students across 570+ schools and 595 classes.
