STEPHAN(1) User Commands STEPHAN(1)

NAME

stephan — lead developer, frontend architect, recovering CTO

SYNOPSIS

stephan [--architecture] [--tooling] [--strong-opinions] [PROJECT...]

DESCRIPTION

Fifteen years of building web platforms, evolving from "the frontend guy" into the person who decides why your build is slow, and then fixes it. Co-founded Cherry Pulp (Brussels, 2013–2024): grew it 4 → 20 people, shipped 200+ platforms, exited to CBTW in 2023, where stephan now runs as Lead Developer.

Specialises in the foundations: architecture, tooling, conventions, and developer experience. Full-stack across the JavaScript and PHP ecosystems, with a frontend bias and an art-school backstory.

OPTIONS

  • --architecture: define technical direction, stack choices, and the shape of the thing before a line is written.
  • --tooling: boilerplates, CLIs, and conventions, so projects boot the same way every time.
  • --strong-opinions: supplied by default. Cannot be disabled.

ENVIRONMENT

Brussels, Belgium. LANG=fr_BE (native), LC_MESSAGES=en (professional). Runs on coffee and a Docker homelab.

FILES

  • ~/.config/clients/: Unicef, Oxfam, Engie, Delhaize, Telenet, KBC Brussels, RTL, RTBF, Monizze, …
  • ~/projects/: 200+ entries, most still standing.
  • ~/cv: the formal write-up, if you need the paper trail. /cv/ (or print it to PDF).

BUGS

  • Will refactor your boilerplate uninvited.
  • Physically incapable of leaving a slow build alone.
  • Talks about the terminal at parties. Built an entire website inside one. You're in it.
